In accordance with the order of the Acting Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 337/НҚ dated September 20, 2022, amendments and additions were made to the rules for registration, use and allocation of domain names. Now non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan can receive accreditation of the administrator of national domain names subject to the availability of ICANN accreditation as a Registrar.

On September 19, 1994, KZ top-level domain started working on the Internet, which was allocated for the Republic of Kazakhstan. We are glad to announce the test launch of the e-mail service with the support of characters of the national alphabet, capable also of serving any domain names of national domains .KZ and .ҚАЗ.

Dear clients of the KazNIC Organization! We kindly inform you that cases of sending fraudulent emails with notifications about payment for support of domain names have been registered. KazNIC accepts payment only through bank transfers and does not support any online forms. Current bank details and contact information are on our website.

A new Internet eXchange Point (IXP) - KazNIX is started in Semey city. The IXP is supported by KazNIC Organization to improve overall connectivity in the region and quality of service for operators and content providers. More detail is on the kaznix.kz website.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 26, 2017 No. 569 on the phased translation of the Kazakh language into the Latin script, KazNIC prepared and tested the possibility of using symbols of the new alphabet in the national domains KZ and ҚАЗ. According to the order of the Acting Minister for Investment and Development Kazakhstan Network Information Center is defined as the Registry of domain names in the space of the Kazakhstan segment of the Internet.

According to the order of the Top-Level Domain Administrator "Kazakhstan Association of IT-companies" dated 28 August, 2015 №20 Regulations for Registrar accreditation were approved.

31 July, 2012 applications acceptance for the priority registration is finished. Open registration of domain names in .ҚАЗ domain begins at 0 hours 00 minutes of 15 August, 2012.

The new top-level domain name using the national character (IDN) began to work on the Internet. The first address in the new domain became тест.қаз for extensive testing and preparation for the registration of domain names. Anyone can test the new name at http://тест.қаз.

22 November, 2011 Accreditation Rules for Registrars of national top-level domains approved by the Order № 28-11-11-A of Kazakhstan Association of IT-companies.

Announcement of the administrator of .KZ domain, the President of the Association of IT-companies of Kazakhstan, Issin N. of June 8, 2011 with explanations of the Registration, use and allocation of domain space of the Kazakhstan segment of Internet of September 7, 2010 was posted.

Starting from 01.06.2011 all new registrations of .KZ domain names are carried out by the accredited registrars only. Starting from 01.06.2011 KazNIC stops accepting applications for the registration from the end users. Support of the domain names registered before 31.05.2011 will be be carried out without restrictions of the terms.

Functionality of the register was added by extension of EPP protocol, which allows to specify the location of server hardware of Internet resource for registration and modification of domain names. Specification of extension is published in the section for registrars.

A new section "Statistics for domains" was opened on the site. Statistics for the number of domain names is to 01.07.2010, other types of statistics are to 12.12.2010.

Dear Registrants, in accordance with the Rules of registration use and allocation of domain space of Kazakhstan segment of the Internet a new application form for registration, modification, deletion of domain names was introduced.

Cost of domain name support for Registrants is 3400.00 tenge per year, for Registrars is 1300.00 tenge per year. Prices do not include VAT

Order of the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 7 September 2010 № 220. approved the "Rules for the registration, use, and the Allocation of Domain Space in the Kazakhstan segment of the Internet".

Registry-Registrar-Registrant was put into operation. Such a model lets to introduce competive relations, increase a quality and assortment of attendant services for consumers - registrants of domain names in Kazakhstan subnet.
