Shared Registry System of KZ TLD
Shared registry system (hereinafter SRS) of domain names allows to decentralize granting of registration services and support of domain names, to introduce competitive relations in this sphere, to improve quality of granted services, to expand a range of accompanying services for consumers.
There is a three-level model of mutual relations in the basis of shared registry system.
- Registry
- Registrar
- Registrant
- Registrar
Registry as a central repository carries out management of a database of registered domain names and support of functioning of these names in the Internet.
Registrar directly serves consumers (Registrants), carrying out registration and realizing rights of Registrant on management of a domain name in Registry, using technologies and means for a data access of Registry in a real time mode.
Registrant, being the consumer of services of a registration/support of a domain name, hosting of a name, site and so forth services, has freedom of choice among Registrars. Registrant can change Registrar at any moment having taken advantage of a transfer procedure (transfer of registration from one Registrar to another).
In spite of such model meaning an unlimited amount of Registrars having an opportunity to register domain names using SRS, stability and continuity of granting of services to consumers is provided by requests of accreditation. The procedure of accreditation of Registrar allows to receive necessary confidence as to granting services on registration and support of domain names to consumers.
